DCI Global Report: June, 2018

An update on what God is doing!

Spontaneous Exponential Growth! (The Apostle Paul wrote):
2 Timothy 2:2 “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
Colossians 1: 24-29 “To them (God’s people) God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfullyworks in me.”

June is the month for high school graduations.

Our DCI Staff and Trainers:

God has given us Staff and Trainers who – like the Apostle Paul – are very committed to the Lord and to His people – His Church. They work hard and have sacrificed a great deal to help Pastors and Church leaders develop their people. Their goal is always to grow God’s people up to maturity in Jesus Christ. The result of these people living authentic Christian lives as disciples of Jesus Christ is that their family and friends are seeing the positive changes in them and are also wanting to experience this same love, peace and joy! Churches are growing rapidly! Now more and more churches are wanting to equip their people to do the same. The good news is spreading from one country to another and God is building His Church!

The following report shares stories of what God is doing today!

Ramananda, Darshini & Grace in Imphal, Manipur, N.E. India report: “Over the last number of years we have trained 110 Church Planters (10 each in 11 groups of students) and they have established 171 New Churches in over 100 different communities of India. They are seeing great fruitfulness even in very difficult areas. On May 17th in one of our disciples’ (church planters) field this man in the red T-Shirt at the front is from a very difficult and dangerous Meitei fanatic religious group. They are known as “SATJAL” in Manipur who are totally against Christianity. He was invited and came to see what was happening in the church. As I started sharing the gospel he was very attentive. I blamed no one, no religion, nor any gods or goddesses in my preaching, but only shared the love of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the sins of all human beings on this earth. I challenged them, that if there is anyone who is willing to give everything up and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and receive the forgiveness of your sins, to raise your hand. Praise the Lord, without any hesitation and further questions, very unexpectedly and beyond our belief, he was the first to raise his hand and accepted Christ and the forgiveness of his sins!” Please pray for Ramananda, his family and these Church Planters!
The National Leaders trained in Siliguri, India: Leaders from Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Northeast India, South India, and Sri Lanka completed the training to equip them in the DCI strategy. They have returned to their own country to train Pastors and Church leaders to develop their churches to become Disciple Making Churches. In each country the goal is to develop enough witnessing disciples to reach the entire nation with the gospel. Thank you for your prayers! God provided the needed funds to equip these leaders, through the generous donations of so many of you.

Hans and Elly Timmermans – Malawi, East Africa: Report on the activities of the DCI Team in Malawi over the last year. “The Team travels every other week to train leaders and pastors somewhere in Malawi or Zambia. As they train leaders, the goal is that this training is passed on. When the Team begins to disciple a group of pastors they always start with the Gospel message. Some of the leaders and pastors have not been saved yet, but when they hear the Good News, most of these receive Christ. We find the people in Malawi very responsive to the Gospel. They always tell us, “We know we were not living right, but we did not know how to change. You have come and told us the Good News and now our lives are changed.”
Our DCI team teach the leaders how to disciple their people one-to-one and how to pass it on to others. The content of the training workshops is spaced over about a half year and five sessions of 4 days each.
Results of this effort over the last year by the three men who are faithfully doing the work God gave them to do:
1. Number of pastors and leaders trained: 243 4. Churches Planted: 28
2. Follow up trainings: 88 5. People Trained by the leaders above:1,167
3. Churches impacted: 257 6. Decisions for Jesus Christ: 9,357
Due to the explosive nature of the spread of the Good News and the number of people being saved through the One-to-One Discipleship and multiplying Life Groups we will need more Bibles in the local languages, Tumbuka and Chichewa. We are printing the DCI discipleship materials in Malawi and we need huge numbers of those as well (this week we have ordered 6000 more in the Tumbuka language).”

Clair Ziolkowski – Beautiful Feet Ministries
– A Partner ministry of Dynamic Churches:
“Wow! What a mission trip we just had! So much happened and God blessed our efforts greatly. I will summarize!
It was wonderful to have Martin Harder working with me for the 4 weeks. Martin lead a daily Bible study and did some preaching and baptisms. Our container of many valuable resources for the local people arrived on schedule and was ready for distribution. We left the morning after our arrival from Canada for a full day on the road, pulling a trailer loaded with all we needed for 2 weeks of crusades and church planting. We had hoped to start 12 churches after 12 crusades, but by the end of our 2 weeks, we had conducted 19 crusades and planted 19 churches! About 20,000 people heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ and over 15,000 people responded by asking Jesus into their hearts! Each crusade was followed by a Bible study the next day using DCI Dynamic Basics books. Martin, with great joy, baptised many new believers. We spent up to 5 hours after these Bible studies praying with individuals. Requests ranged from health, wisdom, love and demonic issues. As directed in James chapter 5, we anointed them with oil and prayed over them. It was so wonderful to see these new Christians understand that the One True Living God, loves and cares for them. This is a far cry from their experiences with the local witch doctors.
Of the 19 churches started last year, 12 are now meeting in buildings, 6 are making bricks and 1 is planning to build in a few months. Of the 19 new churches started on this mission, all 19 have pastors in place and they will be followed up and coached by Pastor Iwell and Pastor Luke. I think 10 or 11 will have buildings by fall, which is the start of their rainy season. One new church was making bricks for their building 3 days after their crusade was held.
We returned to Lusaka after the crusades and reloaded the truck for the Pastors conference in Lusaka. 125 Pastors were equipped with leather bound Study Bibles, Baker Bible commentaries and many other books. 40 Study Bibles and cases of books were sent with Pastor Iwell to be distributed at his Bible college. This college is our main source of Pastors for the new church plants.
We then travelled to Livingstone for a 3-day Pastors conference. We loaded the truck with 2000 lbs of books and Bibles to equip the 100+ Pastors and 200+ Deacons and Sunday School teachers that attended the conference. We ran out of the books and Bibles before everyone was able to get one.”

Note: I (Al) have trained Clair in our DCI ministry. Over the last few years he and his team have planted 38 churches in very remote villages in Zambia. Simeon our DCI African Director is planning to go to Zambia in the future to work with Clair to more fully equip these Church Planters and other pastors in our DCI Spontaneous Disciple Making – Discovery Group Strategy. Praise God for the openness to the gospel and the great work that has begun in Zambia!

Simeon Oyugi – African Director: Simeon is still ministering in West Africa. God provided the funds as needed along the way as he traveled from country to country. Beginning May 7, he now plans to return to Kenya in early July. He is equipping National leaders and many Pastors in 8 countries. The trip has been extended in several countries because of the overwhelming response. In Ghana, instead of one training workshop he has conducted 9 in different places (total of 560 Pastors and leaders). In each country the National leaders are developing a team of Trainers who will continue to train more and more Pastors to equip their people to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples in their communities through the Discovery Groups. Please pray for health, safety and strength for Simeon!!!
Simeon is in Nigeria now, and he plans to go to Cameroon and possibly Ethiopia. He has been very busy, so he will be sending me a full report after he returns to Kenya. We will get that to you as soon as we can.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support! Through you God is expanding His Kingdom. Together with you, we are a team and we very much need each other to accomplish the great work God has given us to do!

Donations can be sent to the DCI address or via online in Canada & the U.S.  See DCI donate page.

May God bless you all!
Your Brother and Sister in Christ,
Al and Mary Middleton
