DCI Global Report: May, 2018

The Call – Paul’s vision of the man of Macedonia (Acts 6:6-10):

“Paul and his companions travelled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to. So, they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas. During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, ‘Come over to Macedonia and help us.’ After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.”

God is still directing His global strategy by putting on the hearts of people to seek Him and leading them to people who can help them find Him. The following report shares stories of what God is doing today!

God is Calling Leaders – David Benjamin:

Has joined our Canadian staff team. He has a MA in International/Global Studies. I have known David for many years and have a great deal of appreciation for him. He will be serving part time with us here in Canada as well as places like India. We welcome David and pray for God’s blessing on him as he equips Pastors and Christian leaders.

God is Calling National Leaders to Siliguri, India:

Our ministry in India recently received calls from leaders in Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Northeast Indian, South India, and Sri Lanka asking them to equip them in the DCI strategy. They invited them to Siliguri, North Central India to be trained so they could go back to their home country and train Pastors and Church leaders to develop their churches to become Disciple-Making Churches. In each country the goal is to develop enough disciples to reach the entire nation with the gospel. The cost to equip these leaders is $3,300.

Click here to view a 5 minute video to meet some of our DCI Staff and Trainers in these countries in South East Asia. You will be encouraged to see our DCI Staff Team, learn information on their countries and see those who came for this training from various countries.

National Leaders in West Africa are calling: Simeon, our Director General for Africa has now developed Regional and National Directors and teams of DCI Trainers in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Tanzania, and in the Southern part of Africa, in both South Africa and Zimbabwe. We are also working in Malawi, Ethiopia and Zambia (see yellow stars).

Besides these pastors, he has also trained over 6,000 students from Government run Universities in Kenya who in turn took the DCI Workshop training back to their Pastors and Churches in their villages and communities making DCI Africa a household name in all of Kenya.

Now, because of the overwhelming results, the word is getting around and invitations have come to Simeon from 16 other countries. Simeon has been in communication with these national leaders and is building relationships with them. Now is the time to get together with these leaders and equip them to take the DCI ministry to their country and region.

Simeon is planning a trip to West Africa beginning May 7 for one month to equip a National leader and a team of Trainers in 8 of these 16 countries. These countries are: Cameroon, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Cote D’Ivoire, Liberia and Sierra Leone (see blue stars). Already these leaders are asking if they can invite to these sessions friends who are national leaders in nearby countries!  God has created the hunger and excitement for our DCI strategy and ministry resources all over Africa.

Please pray for Simeon – for health, safety, spiritual protection and strength – as he will have a very active schedule in May. Pray that God will give him wisdom as he selects the right people to lead the DCI ministry in each of these countries. He still needs $2,800 for air travel, accommodations etc. for his trip to West Africa. See his prayer requests here.

Your Prayers do make a huge difference!

Why are National leaders calling us for help?

By God’s grace He has shown us a simple yet very effective way to equip Pastors and Church leaders in how to develop the people in their Churches through Lecture, Audiovisual, Demonstration, Discussion, Practice Doing and Teaching Other People to do (see chart) and to become true disciples of Jesus Christ.

The result is that the lives of these people are changing, and they are sharing their excitement with other people who want to be trained as well. These disciples are making other disciples as Jesus and His 12 disciples did. It is working very well, and God is using our DCI Trainers to change nations!

Answering the Call:

I am presently discipling 2 men. One man I meet with each week and we talk often through the week. God has delivered him from a life of bondage and addiction in the past, now he is praying for and building relationships with friends and seeking to share the gospel with his friends.

The other man (a friend I have known for several years) organized a DCI Spontaneous Disciple Making Workshop that I conducted with him and a group of his Christian friends. I challenged them to each find someone who is open to the gospel message and begin a Discovery Group with them. As my disciple prayed, God led him to several people. As he talked with them they were all very interested in what the Bible has to say about the issues of our lives. He is meeting with 4 of these men individually using the Discovery Group format, and their interest is growing week by week. They are sharing with other people the important things they are learning. My friend is so excited as he shares the amazing things God is doing in and through him.

Upon completion of any of the courses, and the successful completion of the comprehension tests we will send out a Certificate of Achievement. It has also been through this exposure on CMA that quality leaders in many countries are calling us, asking to be equipped as DCI Trainers, so they can disciple people to reach their nation with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support! Through you God is expanding His Kingdom. Together with you, we are a team and we very much need each other to accomplish the great work God has given us to do!
