Global Report – June 2020

2020 Vision – Hope for the Future!

Dear Faithful Friends and Ministry Partners,

The apostle Paul said, in 1 Corinthians 3:6 NIV; “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”

We have trained national leaders (Planted the seed) in many countries to equip Pastors and Church leaders to train their people (they Watered) to reach out and share the gospel and make disciples. Now, (God is making His Kingdom Grow) and bringing in the Harvest.
Having Trainers in place becomes especially important in times like this when many countries like India and in Africa are in total lockdown. God continues to grow His Church!

Below are a few reports that show how God is working.

India: Harish Binayak (our DCI Director) shares; “This worldwide pandemic has brought a lot of challenges to our indeveavor in the mission field. Local churches are not able to meet together for fellowship, however through the generosity of some people we are able to do relief work among the poor in the community who are in desarate need. Besides food, they were also offered Bibles and we praise God that many gladly accepted them! Pray that they will read them and find Jesus.”

Africa: Simeon Oyugi reports on Whats App; Al and Mary, Praise God, it was wonderful hearing your voices and seeing your faces and talking with you. It always encourages us as a family.
Engaging the lost and people whose hearts are open to the Gospel has spiked upwards.
“Before Covid-19, people who were open to the Gospel was 25% or less, but with covid-19, the percentage has changed from 25% to 60%. One example: The 17 new Discovery Groups (that one Pastor started as a result of sharing the gospel in May) have grown to 46 Discovery Groups by 8th of June.”
Also, the reports I am getting from across Africa is that, there is a huge hunger, thirst and search for Jesus Christ even in the Muslim dominated areas. They are opening their hearts to Jesus Christ and looking for the Bible whereever they can find it. Bookshops are running short on Bibles especially the study Bibles. DCI is spiking higher and higher across Africa and to God be all the Glory!
As a result of these happenings, we need to empower more of our Leaders with the following:
1. Wifi installations at a rate of $350 for 20 Trainers in Africa so they can do online Training. We can start
with 3-4 persons.
2. Motor bikes for navigation for Training and to help to plant more Churches. Cost for each is $2000.

THESE ARE THE PREVAILING CHALLENGES IN AFRICA AS OF NOW. Changes in climate between drought and heavy rains, massive locust invasions which destroy crops, hyper inflation and food shortages and 3 months of imprisonment due to the coronavirus pandemic with no electricity.
NB: Our President just extended the shutdown and lockout (from Nairobi) for another 30 days, so we shall be in the village for those extended days without electricity and internet.
As a result of these factors, we are short on food and living in danger of our health.
We (Simeon and Anna and their 4 children) need food for the next 30 days = $2200.
Mosquitoes are now thriving and increasing heavily, we need malaria medicine for six people = $1600.

The DCI Ministry continues to need your support for our many very fruitful workers.
Donations can be mailed to the addresses below, by signing up for pre-authorized payments (PAP) from your bank account, by bank e-transfer to dcimiddleton@shaw.ca or by donating online via credit card through our donate page here.

May God bless you all!
Your brother and sister in Christ,
Al and Mary Middleton
