International Financial Needs Update – June 2016

Investing in Building God’s Kingdom!
Dear Friends & Ministry Partners,
Luke 8:4 to 8 says; “While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: ‘A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.’ When he said this, he called out, ‘Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.’” Invest wisely in God’s kingdom people (good soil) and you will get a great return!
Mary and I have travelled to many countries over the years to train national leaders. Some have done very little with what we equipped them in and others have had amazing ministries! Now as we get older we are focusing on those who are not only having a fruitful ministry (good soil), but are also equipping many other leaders in their own country and some are even going to train leaders in countries near to them. This is proving to be very effective and is also efficient. God has been, and continues to be so faithful to provided the finances to expand the DCI ministry as many of you have given generously when God prompted you to do so! Thank you for that! We are seeing much more ministry happening in these countries now and the cost for each training workshop is greatly reduced. As the ministry expands, however, so does the need for more finances. We have also tried to care for our faithful people who are living in very difficult circumstances. When they have emergencies and it is impossible for them to meet them, we trust God to enable us to help them. You have shown that same compassion for them and when asked, you have stepped up and graciously met those needs. We come to you again with the following opportunities: Please give what you can!
sundarDR. I.G. and Marie Sundararajan – DCI Representatives in South India. They were our first international staff and have served God faithfully with DCI for 26 years. I.G. recently needed back surgery. He is recovering well, but the cost was $2,200.00 CDN. This is something he is unable to cover. Could you help?
Need for back surgery expenses = $2,200.00 CDN.
simeonSimeon and Ann Oyugi – Regional Directors in Nairobi, Kenya. Since our last newsletter Simeon has sent me flow charts that show he has 39 DCI Trainers in Kenya plus 5 in Uganda and 3 in Tanzania. These leaders are all equipped to train Pastors and church leaders who are developing Discovery Groups in their communities. None of these Trainers receive any finances from DCI. Simeon does not receive a regular salary from us, but we do help with travel and training expenses when he goes to new areas because they have no appreciation for the DCI Training yet. Simeon also equips a local leader in each area to be the DCI Representative there. When he is asked to return to those areas to train more pastors he either has the trained local DCI Rep. conduct the training or he expects the local people to cover the cost for his travel, accommodations and training materials etc. This they are willing to do, because they now see the value.
Simeon has had a friend cover the expenses of his rent and food. Sadly this man has lost his job and is not able to continue. We (DCI) have committed to cover the cost for the schooling of their 4 children. He is trying to build a home for his family and he needs $9,500.00 to complete the roof structure and metal roof sheeting. This is needed right way to close his home in before the rains come.
He will also need our help in the months ahead to travel to Burundi, Rwanda and Southern Sudan. These are all new countries inviting him to come and each trip will cost around $3,000.00 CDN.
Needed to complete the roof of his home = $9,500.00 CDN
Needed for travel and training expenses for Burundi = $3,000.00 CDN
Needed for travel and training expenses for Rwanda = $3,000.00 CDN
Needed for travel and training expenses for Southern Sudan = $3,000.00 CDN

estrellaJing and Josephina Estrella – DCI Directors in the Philippines.
Thank you to those of you who invested in the chicken farm. Jing is within $400.00 CDN to be able to complete this self supporting project. This will be such a blessing for him and his family!!
Still needed to complete the chicken farm = $400.00 CDN

John Mathuraja – DCI Representative in South India
John shares; “Rev. Ashok Kumar came from Sri Lanka to our Church in India. I shared with him about our DCI Training and he asked me to conduct this training in his church and several other churches in Sri Lanka. God provided and I did this in April. Our training was very useful to them. The glory is to God for what great things He has done through this training! There is nothing like this available to them in Sri Lanka. They were motivated to disciple believers and help them grow to be leaders eventually. Thereby to fulfill the great commission of Jesus Christ, found in Matthew 28:19, 20. Pastor Ashok Kumar, who was once the President of the Fellowship of Tamil Churches in Sri Lanka knows so many churches. Through his help we can do DCI strategy. Also he has 7 branch churches in 3 districts.
My Future Plans: Pastor Ashok Kumar’s son in law, Suresh Kumar 27 yrs. old, who studied in Colombo Theological College knows 3 languages: English, Tamil and Singalam. I plan to equip him and once he is thoroughly trained in DCI strategy and materials he can be a DCI Trainer there. Therefore, I am praying to God to go back there to equip him and give DCI training with the pastors sometime in the month of August or September. I am so happy about DCI and it has encouraged me to work more among the needy people. Praise God!”
John needs $700.00 CDN for this strategic trip!

Hans and Elly Timmermans – Canadians Directing the work in Malawi, East Africa.
They have recently raised $14,000.00 CDN for the purchase of a vehicle for their team of 4 National leaders, who go out to the villages in Northern Malawi to share the gospel, begin One-to-One Discipleship and start Small Groups. In January 2014 they received the DCI discipling materials that were printed in Egypt. 10,000 Dynamic Basics and 10,000 Dynamic Discipling books. The 10,000 Basics are almost gone and they have had another 5,000 printed in Malawi. These books are making an enormous difference in the lives of the new disciples/followers of Christ. In all likelihood, more than 10,000 have been discipled, since some leaders have been photocopying the Basics for their own outreach. Having these 10,000 copies in the hands of new disciples means that 1 in 140 Tumbuka speaking Malawians in the North have a Basics book and a New Testament in their own language. Great job Hans and Elly!

By God’s amazing Grace we can all make a difference in the lives of many thousands of people! You are making a difference by praying and investing in the lives of these DCI Trainers! Will you ask God how you can help with the above needs?
Thank you for your prayers and financial support! Through you God is expanding His Kingdom. We together with you are a team and we very much need each other to accomplish the great work God has given us to do!
Donations can be sent to the address below or online through Canada Helps or Network for Good in the U.S.
May God bless you all!
