Global Report – February 2021

DCI Global Report – February 2021
Needing Hope – Finding Jesus!

“With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 (The Message)
Dear Friends and Ministry Partners,

2020 was a challenging year for sure, but through it all, God has been faithful! Mary and I are doing well. I have mostly recovered from the stroke that I experienced one year ago on March 7, 2020.

We wondered how COVID-19 would affect our donations this past year. God has been gracious to us and we were able to end the year with all obligations met. DCI Ministry continues to grow rapidly. Now we have many new requests. We greatly value your continuing support!

I wish I had 20 more years to be a part of this ministry, but Mary and I are in the process of transitioning our responsibilities over to younger leaders.

I have been meeting with Kervin Raugust who is volunteering his time until DCI can provide an income for him. We are working together to develop new materials especially for pastors and church planters. As I transition out, the plan is for him to be the DCI Global Training Director.

We are also praying for someone to take over for Mary who can manage the office and finances. We have purchased a Donor Software program that will make it easier to transition to a new person. The cost of the software is $2,000.

Also, we are in the process of establishing a partnership between DCI and BFM (Beautiful Feet Ministries). Directors, Clair and Verle Zoilkowski have applied to join our DCI staff and would serve as Interim Ministry Coordinators.

I will continue as DCI, Executive Director until we get everything set-up and operating well.

DCI has thrived this past year even with COVID-19 restrictions. 2021 looks to be even more amazing!

We will continue to develop each country where we serve but will focus mostly on Africa this coming year.

I received the following report from Dr. Simeon Oyugi who is our African Director. He shares what he and his team have accomplished in the previous three weeks. I know you will be encouraged:

God is moving forward mightily in Africa, saving many souls. Now, training materials and more translations are really needed. 700 of our Discipleship books used to last three months, now they are gone within 3 weeks!

Dr. Simeon Oyugi has been used by God to expand the DCI ministry into several new countries in 2020.

These leaders are equipping and serving many churches in their countries to disciple their people who are establishing Life/Discovery Groups in their communities with unchurched family and friends. Because of so many changed lives, Life Groups and Discovery Groups are reproducing to many generations of groups in each of the 33 countries,
It is impossible to keep count!

This is an incredible opportunity to expand God’s Kingdom across Africa! The Strategy is working, and the time is Now!

This report may seem to be an exaggeration because here in North America we are not used to such overwhelming results, but God is using YOU to transform these countries and we praise Him for you and for your continued prayers and financial support of DCI!

Some immediate needs are:
$2,000 for Donor Software program for the Canadian Office
$340/month Support for a new DCI Coordinator in India:

Dr. Oyugi has prepared a budget for the DCI African ministry for 2021 of $145,000 or $12,085/Monwhich is reasonable considering all that is happening in Africa. We have some regular support that comes in each month for Simeon and DCI Africa team, but the following needs are not covered.

Immediate needs for Simeon and his family and the DCI ministry are:
$1,600: Living expenses for Simeon’s rent and DCI office expenses for February and March
$1,000: Food (it is in short supply and very expensive) for Simeon’s family for March
$850: Translation of our DCI materials into Arabic for Northern Africa
$1,300: Translation of our DCI materials into Kiswahili
$1,700: Translation of our DCI materials into French

All these needs must be met to continue the great mandate that God has called us to accomplish.

God is giving us the opportunity to transform Africa! Would you like to help make this happen? Could you make a special donation at this time?

Any amount you could give to meet these needs would be a great blessing!
We are preparing a fund-raising presentation and planning to meet with potential investors. Do you know anyone who would be interested in investing in this very worthwhile endeavor? If so, let me know and I would be happy to meet with them.
