Workshop in Kenya

Simeon Oyugi, our Dynamic Churches Director in Kenya, is doing a Spontaneous Disciple Making workshop at a large church in Nairobi, Kenya this weekend. The Bishop of this group has great influence in many other churches as well. He will be doing the same training at Rusinga Island next week. Pray for safety in travel, health and strength and Godly wisdom as he teaches and interacts with these leaders. Thank you for praying!

Training a group of pastors

Training a group of pastors

From Hans and Elly Timmermans:

Our team has been to a village called Kamphenda last week, for their third visit of 4 days. This completes the basic teachings that they do in this place with one set of leaders/ pastors. From here on in, it is follow up for encouragement, etc. and an annual refresher course. These leaders are now on their own to pass on what they have learned into their communities. Read what these newly trained leaders have said:

“We had so many encouraging testimonies where we could hear that some life groups
have multiplied to 2 and others up to 3. Leaders are being trained and one to one discipleship is being done amongst life group members as well as in their community and many are coming to Christ through this approach. And so far most of the life group members are able to pass it on.”

The Team has trained approximately 50 Pastors/Leaders since our visit there last June/ July. Each one of these men and women are fully equipped to teach others in leadership skills. They will multiply themselves, but they also start life groups that multiply. Our team is delighted to continue on with this work, even though transportation is very difficult most of the time and mosquitoes are abundant this time of year, being the rainy season. We thank God for keeping them safe in their travels and healthy…

Quotes

Quote from Ron. Nelson:

It was a joy to be with many of the people whom we were able to provide with discipleship training and they had a celebration for those who have graduated from the Dynamic Basics One-to-One training. They are now moving on to the next course, Dynamic Discipling One-to-One. We will also be providing leadership training for the church leaders in preparation for them to train others in Calgary and also in Haiti.

Ron and Bev did three workshops with the Haitian churches in Calgary along with Pastor Enock Remy. They trained 26 people in the Dynamic Basics who are now proceeding into the Dynamic Discipleship series.

Quote from Jim Klaas:

Jim and his wife Naomi recently visited a couple they led to faith in Jesus 35 years ago in a creative-access country in Asia. They direct a world-class language school. One student, accepted Christ after being involved for 3 years and now his brother and mother have as well. They are connecting with a local church and will be using the Dynamic Churches material with the pastor for follow-up.

Malawi Report January 2016

We want to wish you God’s blessings for 2016. As we look back over this past year we have many reasons to be thankful. The Dynamic Churches International (DCI) work in Malawi is expanding well. Over 6,000 Dynamic Basics books for following up new Christians have been distributed since January 2014, when our supply came in from Egypt. 1,800 Dynamic Discipling books have also been distributed. The Life Groups in the various areas are all reproducing, some into the 3rd and 4th generation and still going strong. Trainers or coaches have been trained and in some cases their Apprentices have taken over the first area while the trainer has moved to others areas to start new groups.
The DCI Team is getting more proficient all the time. They are taking training in areas where they have weakness, learning new skills to use in the ministry.

A Report from Nairobi, Kenya

With profound joy and great excitements for DCI, and the teaching DCI provides for training Churches to become fruit bearing and effectively win their communities for Jesus and equip them for spiritual growth to maturity.

I sent sixteen youth to go and do trainings in Maliki Bungoma which they did for two weeks in different churches. The first week, they covered 5 churches (200 people) and the second week at three different churches (130 people). In total they trained 330 people.

I had instructed them to encourage the trainees to reach new people in their community and at least 7 new Discovery Groups have been found. From these they will begin to target the whole community. In Tanzania, day one began strongly as a Muslim girl gave her life to the Lord late in the evening. After this, we also had a few Catholics join us. Seeing a Muslim girl opening her life to Jesus, they too said, they needed Jesus and that night we had 5 people beginning a new Journey with Jesus. We trained 3 different Church groups with a total of 78 people. With the 5 giving their lives to Jesus Christ, they immediately became our 5 Discovery Groups.
No one wanted us to leave because there was joy and real happiness in the Community.

God bless you.

Simeon
