Dear friends and ministry partners of Dynamic Churches
International,

It is with great joy that I introduce you to our new Executive Director,
Merle Doherty. I have known Merle for many years, and we have been meeting
once a week most weeks for the last 5 years for a time of mutual
encouragement in God’s Word.

Over those years we have talked many times about the ministry of Dynamic Churches International. We have often praised God for the many ways He has blessed and prayed for the needs of the DCI Staff teams in many countries.

Merle’s appreciation for what God has done through DCI has grown. Having recently left his position as Manager of Disaster Response Chaplains with Billy Graham organization, Canada, Merle began to sense that God was prompting him to consider serving Him through DCI. When I shared that we were looking for a new Executive Director and that I thought he had the gifts and experience of administration that we needed for this role, he said he would pray about it.

As Merle prayed, God confirmed that this is His call on his life. While he is somewhat overwhelmed by the enormity of the task, he clearly understands that it will be accomplished, not by him but by God who will powerfully work through him.

Many of you have caught God’s vision for DCI and it has become your vision too. I shared with Merle that we, together with each one of you have seen God continually do what only He could do, through us. Knowing I had your prayers and support through the years has always been a great encouragement to Mary and me.

I assured Merle that he will have a great army of people who will be committed to pray for and support him and the continuation of the vision God gave 35 years ago. I am very pleased that the DCI Board of Directors has affirmed Merle Doherty and appointed him as the
Executive Director for Dynamic Churches International as of November 1, 2024.
